Wassily Kandinsky

Last week class 1/2F painted modern pictures of buildings that Kandinsky painted.Then we could colour our paintings in with bright colours in oil pastel. Then we blended them in with our fingers. Next we did the buildings. There were five of them.We coloured them in bright colours and the colours were between brown to yellow.Then we did the roofs. The colours were between brown to dark red. When they are finished they will look great.

Colour Artworks

WOW! Look at that bird on the leaf. Last week we did line and colour artworks like Kandinsky. The colours we used were blue/green/red/yellow and also we got to put it in our own order.We put a black paint background and we traced the leaf with a black marker.We used all bright colours.
They looked fantastic. With the colourful colours on the leaves. The leaves are very big. Two are in the middle, one is on the top and one is on the bottom.

Halloween Disco

On Friday 23rd October 2009 k-2 went to the Halloween Disco. Some people were witches some were ghosts and some were wizards. Some were even devils.At the disco we played musical statues and limbo. We ate lots of food. There was cupcakes with a spider on it, popcorn and crisps. We danced to the Macarina song. At the end of the night we got a lollie bag.
We had a great night.

Information Report on Deserts

OHHHHHHHH!We are still stuck on a Desert and still boiling hot. Anyway we are learning about Deserts in writing. There are lots of Deserts in Australia. There are lots of interesting animals. We like the life cycle about the Deserts. Life cycles start where ever they want. The life cycle looks like a chain but it is broken. The spiky grass in a desert is called spinifex. Animals need shelter because the desert sun makes the desert very hot. They need food,water and shelter. In the Desert in the Northern Territory they have a giant rock called Ayres rock (Uluru).

Last Week we also went to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. We liked the chicken dance. It was funny. They were very loud.

Gala Day 2009

On Saturday 12th September 2009 it was Gala day. There was a Haunted House, Teacup ride, a Jumping castle and Put Put Golf .There were lots of peformances and they looked good. Some of us did two peformances and some of us did three. There also was sponge throwing and those people got wet. Then it was another persons go. There also was sausage sandwiches and they were yummy.There was also tombolla jars with sweets and toys. At the Gala day there was an art exhibition. It was a tiring day for us but we had a great time.

week 7

Were struggling to finish our work and if we don't finish we will get a detention and stay in the classroom forever.Today we are writing journals. Also we are doing Art this afternoon.I n Art we are painting our bottles on the canvas. One is fat with grapes in it, one is little and one is medium. We are also practising our Celebration dance for Gala Day.

Excursion to Sydney Olympic park

On Thursday 27th of August 2009 we went on a exciting excursion to Sydney Olymipic Park to the mangorove forest and the dry forest.When we got there we had recess. Then we played rolly polly. It made us dizzy. Then we went to a bridge to look for crab holes. Then we went on a board walk. It was narow. After we got to about half way along the walk we stopped and licked the salty leaves.They tasted very salty beacause the tide comes in every day.The tide comes in because of the moons movments. Then we finished the board walk .Next we went to a pond and tried to make frog calls. After that we went past the rangers base. There was a snake near there. Then we went to a dry forest. We used a magnifying glasses. We said 'it was fun.'
We had a great time and we wish we could go again another day!

Information reports about Rainforests

AHH!I'm stuck in a rainforest and Jaguars are surrounding us! We are talking about rainforests. We started learning about them last week. Did you know that the Howler Monkey can howl about 16km away? There are 3 parts of a rainforest. They are the Forest Floor the Canopy and the undercover.There are lots of animals in the rainforest. Some are beautiful and some are ugly. we are looking forward to our excursion to the Olympic park and visiting the mangrove forest.

class 1/2F's twisted fairytales

Class 1/2F has been writing twisted fairytales over the last few weeks and we also have typed them up and made them into a book.They are called Jack and the Beanstalk/The three little pigs
and Cinderella .Then we drew a piture for the story we wrote.
We have also buried a time capsule and we will dig it up in four years time. We have written a letter to ourselves and brought a treasure that was special to us and put it in the capsule. I can't wait to dig it up!

old school house musem

Last Wedsday we went on an excursion to the school house musem.
This is called maypole dancing.You have to dance to the music and hold the ribbon and hold your partner at the same time.This is what it looks like.It makes a pattern can you see the pattern? It is beautiful.

Week 7

Last week it was very muddy. We could not go on the grass because it was rainy. Most teachers

said "Don't go on the grass", but when the bell rang people ran over the grass to get to class fast. Thanks for reading our blog .

Week6

Wow! There is alot of mud on the grass. We are not able to go on the grass. If we go on the grass we get in very big trouble.On monday it was very windy so we wore a lot of clothes.

Week 6 1/2f

Last week our class made EIFEL Towers. They were very colourful.
On Wednesday our class did a big porformance with a pom pom each. On Friday we have GOLDEN time. We have lots of fun. Friday is a great day because we all have sport too.

Education Week

This week is Education Week at our school. We are doing a dance called "I like to move it move it." It is cool. Some of us are doing two dances. We did student led reporting on Monday morning.We watched the dances today.They were very good.The song goes like this...."I like to move it move it." It is from Madagascar the movie.
